BEFORE PROJECT
ABOUT
The showroom is located in a historic building in the very heart of the city. The space itself is unusual: a large part of it is a relatively recent addition tucked into the inner courtyard, built using construction methods typical of its time.
Rather than trying to disguise this contrast, we chose to make it part of the story.
The first room reflects the character of the original building, with its vaulted ceiling and arched openings. We wanted to preserve this sense of history, so we restored the original wooden entrance doors, carefully removed layers of paint from the brickwork, and introduced a black-and-white mosaic floor with a fine geometric pattern. The flooring brings a subtle French note to the space and aligns closely with the brand’s aesthetic.
In the newer part of the showroom, we kept the base calm and restrained: softly textured lime-plastered walls with a natural, slightly uneven finish, a monolithic concrete floor, and light, sheer curtains. Some of the ceiling structure was left exposed, and the round columns were clad in mosaic. This approach reflects the brand’s values — refined minimalism, quality, and simplicity.
Stainless steel elements and the clean lines of the furniture add a contemporary edge. At the same time, the classic tapestry fabric on the poufs — with its historical ties to France — paired with poplar burl veneer introduces a sense of French elegance and individuality, giving the interior a recognizable character.
This balance between historic elements and refined minimalism defines our vision for the new CICI COCO showroom.
