Honorable Mention – New CAP Piura Headquarters Competition 2025
Piura, PeruTeam: Nathaniel Perich, Alvaro Tawas, Manuel JaramilloWe obtained fourth place (Honorable Mention) in the competition for the new headquarters of the College of Architects of Peru – Piura Regional Chapter.
The project consisted of designing a multipurpose hall within an existing property in the city, intended for both institutional activities and community events. The proposal sought to integrate with the urban context, connecting the street with the interior garden and prioritizing climatic comfort through passive strategies. The building is organized around a clear and functional structure, where each element fulfills a precise role within the whole.
Main axes of the project:• Shell: The main hall is protected by a layered envelope that regulates interior climate and acoustics while organizing the supporting spaces around it.• Transversality: The hall can open completely to the outside, creating continuity between the public space, the interior, and the garden.• Diffuse light: A PTFE membrane filters natural light and, at dusk, turns the building into a soft lantern facing the city.
The proposal combines a lightweight steel structure with brick and concrete enclosures—materials that provide durability, low maintenance, and a sober presence.Through simple and efficient construction, the project aims to offer a flexible, long-lasting space that fosters connection between the institution and the community.
