Text description provided by the architects. Located by the edge of a reservoir in Minas Gerais, the house was designed to open entirely to the landscape. Discreet lines follow the terrain, dissolving the architecture between water, sky, and vegetation. Upon arrival, the generous wooden roof organizes the path, guiding the visitor towards the interior and the reservoir, while framing the horizon.
From the central axis of circulation, two pavilions open laterally: to the left are the social areas, and to the right are the suites. Pivoting wooden panels define the entire facade, functioning as brise-soleils, which can be angled according to the residents' needs while maintaining the view of the reservoir.
The architecture rests on the ground, supported by a mixed structure of concrete, steel, and wood, allowing for large spans and a flexible layout, combining spaciousness and lightness.
The wood serves as both structure and finish, creating a continuous relationship between the architecture and the interiors. The neutral palette and precise choice of materials allow the green and the landscape to be the protagonists in all environments.
