Micro Hotel Design Project - Second Year Design Project at QUT

The second-year design project I completed at QUT involved creating a conceptual commercial design for a Micro Hotel located in the SO1 Building in Bowen Hills, Brisbane. The main objective was to develop and execute a design that prioritized rest and relaxation for visitors, while also adhering to accessibility standards for people of all physical abilities.Drawing inspiration from the agricultural history of the Bowen Hills Precinct, I incorporated elements of honesty and simplicity into the interior materiality and detailing. Colored metal square forms, reminiscent of milk crates, were used as modular centerpieces that transformed into various functional elements such as joinery, seating, and ceiling features.
