The 'Royal Mansour' can be counted amongst the few establishments in the world that defy hotel excellence.

The competition is placed in Dar Essalam, a  new residential area borned close to the entrance of the Moroccan capital city of Rabat.

The area is sourrounded by an exixsting orchard: orange, avocado and lemon trees make a filter between the new building and the city.

Our concept refers to a typical North African stone: THE GEODE.

Like a geode, the project creates a dichotomy with the environment. An hard skin 'protects' the rooms and the common spaces from the exterior letting them open through the rich garden inside. Infact, one of the main request was to guarantee privacy and exclusivity to the guests.

Beyond the skin, the architecture host differents situation and condition, offering travellers the unique concept of a medina.

The Envelope - Jewel duality brings out a poetic relationship between what clients can see and what clients has to discover.
