Upcycling

Upcycling is the process of transforming waste or useless products and disposables in new materials or products of greater value, or quality.

Materials at the end of life to take a new utility, unlike recycling, using energy to destroy the form and then turn into something new.

The goal of Upcycling is to prevent waste of potentially useful materials, making use of existing ones. This reduces the consumption of new raw materials for the creation of new products. Reduce the use of new raw materials can result in a reduction of energy consumption, air pollution, water pollution and to greenhouse gas emissions.

Upcycling Art

Guido Drummond, he felt uncomfortable and balance when this art was classified as Recycling. I knew this wasn't his job, until he encountered in his research with the use of the term UPCYCLING record made by Reine Pilz Pilz GmbH, in an interview with Kay Thornton of Safe, in 1994.  The term upcycling was also used by William McDonough and Michael Braungart in their book Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the Way We Make Things, from 2002.  Anchored and feeling quite framed within the concept, Guido Drummond classifies his work as UPCYCLING ART.

Unconsciously the front of an art movement taking as UPCYCLER who in their design should be a polyvalent artist fit and with skills as diverse as imaginable. A Upcycler must be able to work any part in every stage of implementation, and should have basic knowledge of Carpentry, carpentry, locksmiths, welding, electricity, upholstery, sewing, painting, sculpture, drawing ...

Guido Drummond then assumes, and revels in his heteronômio, a character who is none other than his own essence, Lord Trash, and part to obsolete objects forgotten in the attic, deposited in the basement, stored in the garage or intended for the garbage. Stroke and cherish their ego, look for your soul and listen to that count. Discover the beauty and the values that are beyond the immediate destination. Finally committed a work of makeover that inspires them a new life and open a new path. In a new place. Or maybe the same. With some new people. Or just the same.

Still arises during the creative process, between the piece and the artist, another form of expression of the same art. Join livings and for Exchange of experiences between the creator and the creature that flows like a poem, a block, a text ... text/poem that inspires a piece, a piece that inspires a poem/text and thus perpetuates itself to celebrate phrase: and the word became ... Art, thus saith the Lord, his creator.
