历史建筑的现代重生 | 16 世纪阿尔贝蒂家族住宅的修复与改造

This building of the XVI° century was originally the residence of Alberti family, one of the noble families of the town, and because of its historical value it was subject to bound by the Superintendency of Architectural Heritage of the Lombardy Region.

The restoration and reuse project was aimed to the creation of a few retail and business spaces at the Ground floor, where originally there were a stable and agricultural storage rooms, and five residential units at the 1st and 2nd floor.

At the 2nd floor most of the spaces were originally used for the storage of agricultural products, so they had wall openings without windows frames, with very large and irregular shapes, that have been preserved in the design of the new apartments that now have a new wall with windows and door-window built 1.25 mt. behind the original one.

The conservation of an ancient Stua, a typical large room with a majolica stove and walls  coated with wooden planks, and the original architectural elements such as mullioned and gothic arc windows, vaulted ceilings, ancient external plaster, stone angular elements, were the main goals of this project, where the creation of new residential and retail units with contemporary distribution and plants dotation took place in the building preserving the architectural characteristics and its original aspect.
