Infonavit selected the 32 most significant architectural firms in Mexico to develop a prototype detached house that could compete in cost with real estate developers but with far superior living conditions.
The proposal seeks to project a rigorous house in terms of the optimal distribution of its interior layout and grouping system, but a flexible house when it comes to finished goods letting the customer make the choice, starting from the basics. Indirect lighting and natural ventilation are the tools that gave this project the best energy rating among the 32 proposals without needing more than basic materials from the region.
The flexibility of the proposal also allows the increase in square metres with a simple movement of the roof, thus generating a second floor using the same structural system, ensuring that the extension of the property will not affect the structural safety.
