The new

runs alongside the railway overpass and allows cyclists and pedestrians to safely cross the cantonal road. It is an important element that promotes cycling between Bellinzona and Giubiasco, it then continues north and south towards the other districts and towns of the area.

The footbridge is part of a system of cycle paths already widely used by the population, providing a concrete and fast alternative within the Belllinzona area, to users who choose bicycles as an alternative to cars for short distances.

The bridge has a total length of

and is composed of two lateral concrete ramps 42 metres long (Giubiasco side) and 30 metres long (Bellinzona side) respectively and a central part in corten steel 80 metres long. The structure width is 3 metres.

INSERTO MEDIUM WO is a linear recessed outdoor luminaire – with IP67 ingress protection, which guarantees visual comfort for users who use the footbridge regularly, thanks to the completely homogeneous diffusion of the luminous flux along the entire surface and the thickness of the glass screen.

On the lateral concrete ramps, a total of 40 standard luminaires were installed. For the central sector made in corten steel, B LIGHT manufactured 36 pieces of the same luminaire in a custom version: the housing box has a corten finishing, for a total integration with the project.
