The pearl of the sea.

A floating city? How looks the life of tomorrow? Will it still be on the country or even on the

water?

Water is the spirit of life. Our biodiversity on earth is one of the reasons of water. The plants are

rising up. Animals are not thirsty anymore.

Water shaped the world. Water is power. Water is still spending power.

Water is life. Water is alive.

The relation to the water leads us and every life on earth. It’s about time to live on the water.

Isn’t it?

Our way of life is getting faster. A big reason is flexibility now. We ask us: Shall we drive to our

place of work? Or even can I still do it from home? Can I do my work, when I am at another

place on earth?

These questions are solid components in our reality now. Today we are at home but tomorrow

we are far away at another place on earth.

The calm and balance radiating element of water, connected with the flexibility of humans

living?

The pearl of the sea can be a possible solution.

Based on a clam, the concept folds along a Mobius strip like line – analogous to the opening

and closing motion of the animal upon which it is based. As if it was a casket, the clam

protects its “treasure”, the pearl, within. In this way, it develops its own kind of magic by

protecting what’s special and only granting it to the sea once perfected.

Following this metaphor, the “pearl” is located beneath the water’s surface and includes a

“360° Panorama Walk” as well as an underwater restaurant. The way there leads across a

central gathering place above which a philharmonic hall is located. This public area is

surrounded by three distinctive buildings, containing, thematically separated, a hotel, an

office tower and apartments, which can be reached through integrated, hidden and

seemingly opening and closing halves – once again alluding to a clam. Shopping-Malls and

different possibilities of entertainment like bars, discotheques and sporting areas are between

these three distinctive buildings.

The different properties are united under one skin. Activity, recreation and entertainment are

next to each other. This combination creates the whole thing. It’s the place where humans

can be at home with our nature. Also we can live a smart life and vocation yet.

A floating island, that is at home at every place on earth.

Eine schwimmende Stadt? Wie sieht das Leben von Morgen aus? Wird es weiterhin zu Land

sein, oder doch uns Menschen mehr und mehr auf das Wasser ziehen?

Wasser ist der Quell des Lebens. Ihm haben wir unseren gesamten Artenreichtum der Erde zu

verdanken. Die Pflanzenwelt wächst und gedeiht nur mit dessen Hilfe. Tiere lechzen nach

dessen durststillenden Charakter.

Wasser formte die Welt. Wasser ist Kraft. Wasser spendet uns Kraft.

Wasser ist lebendig. Wasser ist Leben.

Der Bezug zum Wasser leitet uns Menschen, und alle erdenklichen Lebensformen dieser Erde,entlang des ganzen Lebens. Ist es daher nicht längst über der Zeit das Leben auf das Wasser

zu verlegen?

Auch der immer schneller werdende Lebenswandel nimmt grundlegend zu. Flexibilität spielt

dabei eine äußerst wichtige Rolle. Wir stellen uns die Frage „Fahre ich heute zur Arbeitsstelle,oder kann ich es nicht auch von zu Hause erledigen?“ „ Kann ich es nicht auch von einemganz anderen Ort des Planeten erledigen?“Diese hypothetischen Fragen sind unlängst feste Bestandteile in der Realität geworden. Orte

wandeln sich, sie werden sinngemäss schneller und Aufenthalte verkürzen sich. Wir sind

morgen hier, übermorgen jedoch bereits schon auf einem ganz anderen Fleck der Erde.
