The envelope reflects the light as it changes throughout the day and the façade translates the rays into a special metallic glow.

The village of Ingersheim is set in a picturesque location on the western bank of the River Neckar. The surrounding countryside is covered in vineyards where grapes like Riesling, Pinot Noir and Vernatsch grow on steep hillsides. Ingersheim’s architectural appearance is characterised by the 16th century Renaissance castle in Kleiningersheim as well as venerable religious buildings, an old town hall and half-timbered houses. There is a counterpart set snugly in the same scenery. The dominant design concept for this project was a metal ribbon climbing up the slope and encompassing all the functional areas. The ground plan is H-shaped and the upper floor creates an additional link, stretching over both long oblong buildings. The building structure blends in with the landscape and it separates the garden, with its views over the valley, from the exterior area at the rear. The living and spa areas overlook the garden and the guest and sleeping accommodation with service facilities face towards the slope. The base level of the house contains a garage with space for eleven cars as well as a separate self-contained flat. Large glass windows and rooftop terraces create a powerful link to the exterior. The linking building houses the entrance, which opens on to a two-storey foyer spanned by a metal strap. The ALUCOBOND® façade constitutes the building’s striking design element. It reflects the light as it changes throughout the day and the façade translates the rays into a special metallic glow. The building, which resembles a metal ribbon, sometimes blends in with the landscape and at  other times stands out.
