KJG was founded in Cachtice in 1993. Its focus was sheet metal manufacturing for the production of gutters and lightweight roofing. The company’s name is an acronym of its founders and partners: Kollár, Jurík, Gombarčík.
The company processes 40,000 tonnes of raw materials a year, which makes it not only one of Slovakia’s leading producers of gutter and roof systems, but also allows it to operate in 14 central and eastern European markets. In addition to the production of KJG brand gutter systems and lightweight roofing, the company also focuses on other business activities and the sale of metallurgical materials. The headquarters, designed by the Bouda a Masar studio, combines natural materials, like wood, with touches of colour, like the red on the partitions between the desks and on the sofas and the whole of the façade.
The luminaires installed in the offices plays with the geometry of square shapes and linear forms. iN30 devices have been used mainly between the wooden slats of the ceiling and iN60 devices in the plasterboard false ceilings. They are located sometimes in parallel positions along the corridors, sometimes at right angles to the iPlan Easy luminaires, inserted in the false ceilings of the office areas with computer screen work stations, and sometimes staggered to create a sense of movement in the ceilings. iPlan pendant luminaires have also been used in several meeting rooms that are fitted with a large table and a relaxation area with low tables and sofas. The colour temperature chosen is neutral white for all the environments, including the rest and relaxation zones.
