Snitterton Hall 的现代重生

Snitterton Hall is a Grade I listed building of outstanding national architectural and historical importance. Pevsner has described it as “A gem of an Elizabethan manor house”. In Brian Bailey’s Manor Houses of England lauds the “perfect setting” while Olive Cook in The English House through Seven Centuries declares that Snitterton Hall is “movingly individual and poetic”.

The Hall was which was derelict in 1997 is now immaculately and beautifully renovated family country house. The works were phased over a period of fifteen years including the repair and restoration of the Hall, garden pavilions, former stables, cottage, entrance gateway, curtilage walling and gates, design and repair of parterres, steps and paved ways. The works to the Hall included: re-roofing, repairs of historic plasterwork, fireplaces, panelling and leadwork, redesign of a 19th c. kitchen extension, modern bathrooms and upgrading mechanical systems. The works also included the design of a contemporary swimming pool on the site of a former glass-house within an orchard and productive-garden to the east of the hall.
