The project area is presented as a residual space of a non-concluded block, so there was a clear need to calibrate the completion. In addition, the road that crosses the project area now represents a problematic break between this part of the city and the banks of the River Douro.

In spite of this, it is recognized the potential of this road-bridge that can be related with other emergency infrastructure such as Luis bridge and the bridge Do Infante. Focusing on his unasked will, we have stressed the sign superimposing a volume and we modeled the ground below freeing it from the parking, marking the limit of the block to ensure the permeability between the city and river. The curved shape, in its being both a convexity and concavity, is well suited to work as a sculpture inserted into the landscape, sinuous, but also to enclose a concave space of reception, to be an auditorium, a soft space.

After developing these initial intentions, it was decided to address the issue of co-working, which by its nature requires shared spaces, inclusion and aggregation, as well as fusion with the urban surroundings, creating a square-promenade.
