The design intention of this residence is to capture the North Eastern architecture of Cape Cod or Martha’s Vineyard. The use of shake siding and white painted timber really captures the natural and clean look that is so prevalent in the North East. Wood timber beams used in central spaces throughout the residence help to capture the very natural feeling that the house possesses. One of the most important functions of New England architecture is the incorporation of the outdoors. The large outdoor living area adjacent to the pool ties the site and outdoor space to the main area of the house.
