The structure of the bridge
The bridge will have a roadway width of 8 meters and a single span with a clearance of approximately 45 meters; it will have a composite section structure of reinforced concrete and steel.
In particular, the deck will be made of pre-stressed concrete panels and will be connected to a spatial steel grid structure with both vertical and horizontal bracing. Double T-profiles and angle profiles will be used, coupled with PN profiles.
The support, on the side of the rotary, will be formed by a pile made of four reinforced concrete pillars connected to each other at the level of the floors by a slab.
On the opposite side, the bridge will be supported on the entrance to the tunnel.
The pedestrian bridge connecting the two sides of the Avisio River will be made of steel and have a width of 2.5 meters and a clearance of about 30 meters; it will be a suspended bridge with a steel deck and a wooden floor. The steel ropes will be connected on one side to the bridge pile and on the other side to two inclined wooden piles, equipped with rods, founded on a concrete block embedded in the rock.
The two tunnels connecting to the parking lot have a length of about 170 meters each. The vehicle section, similar to a rectangle, is 10 meters wide and 6 meters high.
The tunnel that receives traffic from the bridge and connects it to Ischia Street has a slope of 3.4% and, for a good part, being close to the ground, will be built by digging a trench covered with a slab, the remaining part will be built with the use of road cutters and possible microcharges. Depending on the degree of rock fracture, temporary bracing rods will be injected to stabilize the excavation.
The base beam and the dome will be made of reinforced concrete with a scalloped cross-section of internal dimensions of 10 meters wide and 6 meters high.
In case of strongly fractured rock, the lining will be built in sections preceded by the placement of suitable metal staging for support.
On the outside, attached to the concrete structure, a "screen wall" will be made of wood lamellae and steel to which the pedestrian bridges on each floor are connected.
The outer parts of the building will be left exposed and treated with transparent protective colored varnishes.
The pedestrian bridge connecting the "Urban Park of the Avisio River" with the Piaz de Ramon, putting the two riverbanks in contact where the river makes a loop, will be made of steel and wood and will be of the "suspended" type with wooden lamellae and steel ropes that will support the walkway made of steel profiles and wooden pavement.
