Riccardo Rami Studio comes to life in the old Pugi carpet factory, within the medieval walls of the city of Prato. The redevelopment of these spaces began in 1994 with the collaboration of the Architects Paolo and Francesco Paoletti.

Everything changes without changing, the open spaces have remained as then only with only a few additional connective openings.

The mezzanine is designed to become one with the environment in terms of form, materials, colors and solutions.

The second part of the studio was restructured in 2004 and is the evolution of the first intervention.

There are solutions dedicated to light using glass block in the walls and frosted glass surfaces in the mezzanines that let the light pass underneath.

A slate waterfall takes water from an old well of the former factory thus acting as a natural maxi ionizer.

In all the two parts the materials used in the intervention are simple and natural: iron, wood, glass. The colors are inspired by Tuscany, warmer in the first part and a little more neutral in the second.

Plants play an important role in the Studio.

All the energetic systems have been converted to low consumption and the lightening are all leds.
