Mr. Noland is a very progressive and unconventionally managed hair salon in the heart of Leipzig. This attitude was our impulse for the interior architecture. The salon is spread over two levels. Therefore, a division into two functional areas was the obvious choice. On the lower level is the reception area. The heart is the stainless steel counter, which is framed by a bright blue wall. Vis-à-vis is a spacious waiting landscape. The single blocks can be rearranged for temporary musical events or exhibitions. On the second level the working area includes three seats and a wash basin. The central element in this level is the exhibition space for hair care products. The columns are integrated into an artificial landscape of wooden pedestals. In the working area, textile surfaces, warm grey tones and soft peach tones determine the atmosphere. Thus the salon creates a symbiosis of extravagance and the mediation of familiarity and privacy.
