The construction is designed as a sculpture to be observed in the round, a materic volume that is sculpted and modeled by subtraction.
The building is located within a subdivision plan, on the edge of the intervention area. Its position makes it clearly visible both for those traveling on the nearby road by car and for those on the cycle-pedestrian path.
The massive body of the building was emptied by a volume subtraction that progressively lightens it towards the top and opens compact geometries towards the sky. The interpenetration of empty space and built volume redesigns the upper edges, underlining the free spaces.
These movements produce large verandas, terraces and outdoor spaces that offer the inhabitants different degrees of privacy. They are places protected from the gaze of passers-by and which allow to freely enjoy the context.
The empty spaces are balanced by the design of the elevations by using white and gray plaster and Lombard Ceppo‘s slab cladding. The alternation of visually light surfaces and more material ones gives it a further rhythm, interacting with the shadows of the facades.
Large windows give continuity between the internal domestic spaces and the external spaces, conceived as outdoor rooms that bring a new breath to everyday life.
