Topography
The area's topography has multiple, big gaps in the terrain (4 meters). The landscape architecture was meant to emphasize the organic slopes and connect the various heights of the terrain, preserving the natural slope towards the house and creating a holistic look that works in harmony with the geometric architecture. The pool was installed slightly over the ground to maintain the natural, organic slope of the garden.
Plants
To create a wild, natural look, we planted trees taken from natural groves. The twisted trunks create texture and a look that ages over time into an ancient, "static" aesthetic. This is contrasted with grassy flora that creates movement in the wind, planted in large clusters that work to preserve the agricultural feel, similar to that of the "moashavim" (small cooperative settlements in Israel) in the area.
Materials
The materials we used were natural raw materials that age well over time - like the weathering steel that would age into a more natural look and incorporate more fully into the overall look of the house and the land around it. The concrete and wood serve a similar function.
