Anderson Mikos Architects completed the state-of-the-art Breast Health Center for Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb, Illinois community.
Anderson Mikos created a healing environment embracing biophilic design; elements of nature, while incorporating the latest technology for a tranquil and serene women’s health imaging center. The women’s center is equipped with: 3D mammography; whole breast ultrasound imaging, stereotactic biopsy, and bone density rooms; modern waiting area with a nourishment station; private changing area with sub-waiting room; private patient corridor; and a new staff area, conference room, radiologist reading room and consult rooms.
Our team integrated art into the architecture, taking cues from the region/area with natural botanical elements on the custom glass sliding doors, aiding in providing focus and distraction for the people experiencing the space; patients, families and staff.
The Breast Health Clinic was built in response to the DeKalb community’s need for leading breast care. Construction for the new 6,000 s.f. center lasted just over four months, while staying within the project’s budget.
