Genius Loci used bold pattern and colors to create a bespoke style local cuisine dining experience and event space at De Wan in Kuala Lumpur.

Dato Chef Wan which is one of the owners, is a celebrity chef in the local Malaysian cuisine, he is a very well traveled person that explored different cultures and very successfully in introducing and fusing them together no matter where he went. He is the face of true Local Malaysian cuisine.

The interior styling and design was inspired by Chef himself, always willing to share ideas, and with a very happy personality. His sunshine influence, reflected the colours and textures used in the space.

Rich, bold and somewhat playful in textures.

The main idea was to recreate a private space of Chef Wan, where guest come to his personal dinning hall to feast. From the garden themed frontage reflecting his own garden at home, to the opulent and bespoked main dining hall, to the cozy rich textured filled dining rooms.

Colours and textures were the main ingredients to the design.
