Hames Sharley designed Modbury High School STEM Hub as an innovative and dynamic space for creating and learning in Modbury, Australia.
Modbury high STEM Hub is a $2.5M upgrade to existing buildings within Modbury High School. The STEM Hub was divided into two separate areas connected via an outdoor staircase and overlooking an outdoor courtyard.
“The STEM Maker Hub” on the ground floor of building 2. The Hub includes 3 labs, collaborative maker area with direct connection to outdoor learning area and group and individual learning spaces. The activities in the makers hub are light fabrication, via 3D printers, laser cutters and CNC machines. Light experiments in the wet lab and robotic experimentation in the dry lab.
“The STEM Innovation Hub” located in the first floor of building 1C. This part of the STEM hub has a focus on IT and research. The Innovation Hub houses a STEM media room, STEM careers room and large collaborative and presentation area.
