Pitá Arquitetura designed the Villa-Lobos Library located in São Paulo, Brazil.

The library is located at a big concrete and glass pavilion at Villa Lobos Park, at the west zone of São Paulo, with activities focused on sustainable and cultural projects, inviting visitors from all ages.

The facade is opened by big terraces with water mirrors, all around the library that connects the interior with nature. The double height interior is protected by big framed windows with translucent glass, which creates plentiful sunny environments.

In the central area of the pavilion, there’s a big relaxing space, marked by a wood structure with cushions, where people can comfortably enjoy the library’s material.

The central structure connects with all of the spaces on the ground floor, such as all of the entrances, children’s activities area, playroom, teen space, café and a 300-seat auditorium. The first floor is occupied by workshop rooms and a study/reading room for adults. On the second floor, there’s the administrative area, a room with +18 mature books, creativity room (with culinary equipment), exhibition area and a reading space designated to the elderly.
