'Less is more' was the starting point for the design of the rooftop
With the purpose of printing the unique traces of the office, but without harming the original architecture of the building, the professionals Bruno Carvalho and Camila Avelar, duo in front of the renowned BC Architects, focused on the small constructive details of the duplex of 380sqm, which at the end of the accounts, served as inspiration for the décor of the first home of a young couple and a newborn baby.
Located in Barra da Tijuca, a prime neighborhood in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro, the apartment boasts modernity, an incredible urban look, although it is only two blocks from the beach, and is privileged with cavalry doses of natural light thanks to the terraces that make up the two floors of the residence. Due to the lack of use of coatings, and to the touch of carpentry and furniture, the design is minimalist, in a clean style, and gives value to the integration of interior and exterior areas.
One of the main requests of the residents, however, was the repagination of the leisure area, on the second floor, to become the ideal space to receive friends and family. For this was created a gourmet kitchen, entirely made of wood 'peroba-do-campo', a raised pool of limestone, and a beautiful vertical garden that takes one of the walls in full. On the first floor, which includes Living, Dining Room and intimate area, the highlight is the contemporary and timeless decor, filled with pieces that contemplate the Brazilian design, such as the chair 'Clad' by Jader Almeida and the armchair 'Jangada' by Jean Gillon.
