设计团队将现状两个住宅组合成一个采用同一木材包裹的住宅。而每个住宅都有着不同的室内装修风格。其中一个住宅，内设有卧室、浴室和厨房，采用了木材和石头，室内风格传统而内敛。住宅一侧为百叶窗立面，因而室内私隐受到保护。而建筑二层布置了公共交流空间，则采用外向而开放的设计形式。

而另一个住宅，采用了钢铁、玻璃、外金属包框、木材和石板，形成更轻型的结构体，看起来就像是平地面抬起的木船。客厅的大面积玻璃幕墙向中庭开敞，在这里可以俯瞰游泳池和周边景色。

Slovenian architecture firm Superform delivered a two-for-one deal in their transformation of two existing homes into one unusual and contemporary timber retreat. Located near a river in the town of Ljubno ob Savinji nearly 45 miles from Slovenia's capital, the nautical-inspired villa is wrapped in a wooden louver screen and constructed to simulate the feeling of a ship at sea. Titled 'Through the Deck into Life,' this unique retreat was nominated for the international Piranesi Award.

Though Superform joined the two existing houses into a single timber-clad home, each individual house was renovated into a different style that reflects its specific purpose. One of the homes, which contain the bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen, adopts a more traditional and introverted style. Built from timber and stone, the house is faced with shuttered windows for greater privacy from the outdoors. In contrast, the second home that houses the communal social spaces was built in an extroverted and open style.

Constructed from steel, glass, rheinzink metal cladding, wood and slate, the second home is a light-filled structure that is lifted from the ground like a wooden ship. From the living room, a large glass facade slides open to a patio that overlooks the pool and surrounding landscape. The undulating landscape and angular wooden terraces down below draw inspiration from the nearby riverine landscape.
