Built in the 70s on the Costa Brava, this house has become the perfect refuge for a large family thanks to the reform of the Catalan studio. The house has been updated to the needs of the family, but respecting the original structure of the house.
With the intervention of Isabel López Vilalta's studio, the house is endowed with greater comfort and functionality. The furniture is another strong point of this vacation home, the reform adapts to the original pieces of pine wood furniture, providing warmth and greater connection with the architecture and design of the Mediterranean culture.
The exterior of the house in Calella is an essential part of the project. The exterior is an extension of the interior of the house, creating a fluid connection, the interior connects with the exterior in such a way that it “hugs” the house both from the north and from the south. On one side of the patio, a latticework hides a wonderful shower in which to cool off in the open air, as well as a fountain designed for the sand on the beach.
Isabel López Vilalta's studio projects a built-in kitchen with wooden doors, with a central island open on one side, a design reminiscent of the past and the functionality of the present. In the interior design of the holiday home in Calella, natural tones and materials stand out, creating a warm atmosphere, with an honest design, without pretensions or banal elements. The bedrooms and bathrooms are located on the first floor, the intervention of the Catalan interior designer has consisted of adding color and personality to the ceilings of the rooms and completely reforming the bathrooms in response to the needs of the family.
