CuldeSac™, one of the most promising studios in our country, has recently travelled to Australia with the exhibition The Design Circus: “the most exciting products in the world”, to showcase –only for a few days– a selection of the most innovative design. The exhibition took place from February 17th through the 21th and formed part of a program of various activities and workshops led by S&M Mobilia, an Australian company based in Perth, and its director, also a designer, Salvatore Fazzari.

Curated by CuldeSac™, The Design Circus addressed the most emotional and private side of design to make visitors laugh, feel, think and imagine. The exhibition recreated a magical atmosphere where almost a hundred objects surrounded visitors and came to life to represent the classic imagery of circus arts and express the evolution and character of contemporary design. The Design Circus showed creations by Patricia Urquiola, Mario Ruiz and Bouroullec brothers, and collections by Jasper Morrison, Ramon Esteve, Apparatu and Nadadora. In addition to learning about the most current design trends, visitors could witness how products transformed into guillotines, beasts and acrobats turning the space into an exciting experience.

Pepe García, partner and founder of CuldeSac™, was responsible for delivering various interactive workshops for professionals and design lovers. Combining fun and dissemination, these sessions aimed to stimulate interest in experimentation and creativity. Pepe García was one of the drivers of the workshops with other renowned names in the Spanish design scene, such as Clara del Portillo (Yonoh Studio) and Xavier Mañosa (Apparatu). Participants discovered the latest sector trends and were immersed in an interactive experience about the design process with top professionals in the field.The program for The Design Circus ran for four days from 17-21 February in two different locations in the city of Perth: The Mobilia showroom, destined to host the exhibition, and Venn Gallery, where the design workshops were held.
