国际水草造景大赛收到来自各个国家和组织的数百件作品，水下的世界别有天地，漂亮的小鱼仿佛在空中飞舞，沙漠、森林、山坡、洞穴，造型各异的水族玻璃缸打造出完美水下景观让人目不暇接。

梦幻般的水下景观是由各国专家们构思创造，这些艺术品的设计同时也需要海洋生物学的知识和诀窍。它可能需要几个月完成一个单件，但这些水下景观所展现给人们的就像已经存在于水下几个世纪的古老风景。

如果不是因为小鱼游来游去，人们会认为这些华丽的设计是现实中的水下景观。作品中有模仿小松树林、禅花园、峡谷和沙漠环境等等，看着沙漠中仙人掌类植物的裸露坡地，你几乎可以感觉到酷热的沙漠烈日。另一个鱼缸看起来像格林兄弟童话故事里的魔法森林。

There's more to aquariums than changing the water and feeding the fish. These dreamlike underwater landscapes were created by experts in aquascaping - and they're true works of art! Arranging aquascapes requires knowledge of marine biology and a knack for design and art. It can take months to complete a single piece, although some of these look like ancient landscapes that have been growing underwater for centuries.

If it weren’t for the tiny fish swimming around, one would think these gorgeous designs are huge real-life underwater landscapes. The aquascapes mimic small pine forests, zen gardens, canyons and desert environments. Looking at the sloping bare terrain of one tank scattered with cactus plants, you can almost feel the scorching desert sun. Another aquarium looks like an enchanted forest from Grimms’ fairy tales, with intertwining roots and looming branches.

Hundreds of aquascaping experts from around the world submit their designs to the annual International Aquatic Plants Layout Contest (IAPLC), which awards the most inventive landscaping projects. Top slots are usually dominated by Asian and Eastern European countries.
