“飘扬的丝带”城市公共空间是一个实验性质的项目，它向人们阐述了社区层面的居民是如何组织和管理公共空间的。项目的灵感来源于瑞士Genossenschaft的智慧和自我管理经验。“公共空间社区”试图设计一个全新的公共空间模式，可以考虑到社区内各方相关者的利益：开发商，用户，附近居民，游客，甚至全部的苏黎世公民。于是这片临时开放的公共空间就被设计了出来，特定的空间形成了一个广场式的形态。

在瑞士，当人们申请建筑许可证的时候，他们必须建立Baugespann，Baugespann是一组数字，展示了未来建筑的面积和形状。“公共空间社区”也需要符合Baugespann的标准和审核。这片公共空间社区鼓励人们参与社区未来建设的讨论。

苏黎世西部逐渐消失的公共空间与不同形式的建筑景观形成了强烈的对比。不同形式的景观建筑包括：住房协会（Kraftwerk1）、伯努利花园城项目、奢华的办公区、复式楼和Stadionbrache一般的需要重新开发的荒地等。在未来，人们到底需要什么样的邻里空间？是人们可以经常见面、聊天的形式吗？“公共空间社区”已建成，Hardturm协会Sadion分部参与合作。

The Public Space Society is an experiment that articulates a shared public space organized and managed by residents on the neighbourhood level. Inspired by the knowledge and self-organizational experience of the Swiss Genossenschaft, The Public Space Society attempts to design a new model of public space by taking into consideration all pertinent parties: the owner of the land, the users, nearby residents, visitors, and the citizens of Zurich. A temporary open public space is installed and demarcated by over-sized markers, which form a lightweight construction in the shape of a square.

In Switzerland, when someone applies for a building permit, they have to erect a Baugespann – a set of markers that indicate the size and shape of the future building. The Public Space Society employs a similar Baugespann to mark a symbolic void in the city and encourage the public to participate in a discussion about how the neighbourhood’s future square will be shaped.

Zurich West is a location where the rapidly disappearing public space collides with different forms of coexistence, such as housing associations (Kraftwerk1), the Bernoulli garden city project, expensive offices, lofts and activated wastelands like Stadionbrache. What will be the future neighbourhood space, where people want to meet, talk and encounter each other? The project is realised in cooperation with Sadion brache Hardturm association.
