The Stella Collective and Thomas Coward Studio have once again teamed up to create pure heaven for Artedomus’ new home in Sydney (you can revisit the amazing Melbourne showroom we talked about previously right here). An art-deco building on Epsom Rd in Rosebery has been transformed into Casa Artedomus, which has been elevated beyond the traditional showroom concept into a space where creatives dream can run free with limitless potential. Catering to the design professionals and enthusiasts alike, the new showroom cements Artedomus as an inspirational and aspirational leader and high-end supplier of architectural and interior design products in Australia.

The main focus of the project was to create an innovative, beautiful and flexible space whilst embracing the heritage feel of the original art deco building. Hana Hakim of The Stella Collective and Thomas Coward set out to celebrate the unique and exquisite product range offered by Artedomus by conceptualising an immersive and cohesive journey for this design mecca.

“I wanted our new home to be a light-filled, inspirational space for designers, customers and staff to enjoy,” says Artedomus’ Managing Director, Phil Brenton. “The design captures this emotion completely, and the result has already enhanced all aspects of our business in Sydney.”

The interior is inspired by old Hollywood film sets. “Thomas and I wanted to push going beyond a concept store and do something dramatic, but with such an exclusive product, permanence can be problematic in a retail sense,” explains Hakim. “We came up with custom designed interchangeable screens and plinths. These then became sets to demonstrate how all the products can work together. These settings unite Artedomus’ huge collection of products that can be used as a changing landscape to keep up with the demands of Australia’s most prominent stone, tile and bathware supplier.”

Casa Artedomus welcomes visitors via a light-filled atrium that houses a custom fluted Elba marble reception desk, which takes its inspiration from the Italian street-scape.

Entering a space feels more like arriving at a dream apartment or an aspirational home, rather than a showroom, with the interior immediately revealing some of Artedomus’ exclusive collection of furniture and finishes. Visitors are immediately greeted by the alluring Smeraldo quartzite kitchen and Agapecasa Eros dining table designed by famed Mangiarotti, located in the ‘Living Room’. Leading into the dramatic space that puts Artedomus’ bathware centre stage, the space features a series of framed setting with interchangeable custom screens and plinths. The journey ends in the Library, architects’ and designers’ study, housing an extensive range of unique quality tiles, mosaics and architectural ceramics.
