Central Cross was built as the headquarters for EMI in the late 1970’s with insufficient regard to the surrounding street level environment. Extra occupied space will be created at ground level and the new façade will transform the perception of the whole building. A thin ‘blade’ canopy is designed to cut through the upper building allowing the street level world to be radically different and more human than its predecessor.
