The Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) a sixstorey structure with a basement measuring about 250m long and 110m wide is a landmark building in the Middle East. The convention centre has advanced solutions and form a benchmark in international venue design. Apart from exhibitions and conferences, the convention centre will host local and international music and arts festivals, and international events.

The Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC), Doha is a prestigious building widely recognised by the Sidra Tree steel structure in front of the building. The sidra tree native to Qatar, is a symbolic plant that flourishes in the country's desert climate. "The sidra tree, growing strong and proud in the harshest of environments, has been a symbol of perseverance and nourishment across the borders of the Arab world." - Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned, Qatar.
The QNCC building is a $750million project providing a sophisticated venue for regional and international conventions, exhibitions, business, gala events and concerts. The QNCC spans 40,000 m2 of exhibition space, a conference hall for 4,000 delegates, a 2,300 seat lyric style theatre, with spaces over three levels.
Clark Door was contracted to provide six large high specification Acoustic Fire-rated Doors in keeping with this high-tech building. After a detailed site survey, it became apparent that there were a number of engineering challenges to overcome to meet the customer’s exacting requirements. As well as the acoustic and fire specification, the small amount of headroom and space projection into the rooms provided Clark Door with a challenge to fit the doors into the limited space.
The Clark Door Engineering Team rose to this challenge by developing a bespoke track and header system for two of the doors. The innovative design was tested in Clark Door’s research and development facility. By simulating the very tight on-site conditions the design concept and installation method was proven. After detailed quality assurance checks the doors were shipped from our UK factory to the QNCC site in Doha. The specialist sliding doors were then installed and commissioned in the heart of the theatre space within the building.
