IIFL office in Mumbai was designed as a single unit building which houses hundreds of its employees within one space and brings out a sense of pride of associating with a company that breathes and exhales uniqueness.

Design of the interiors not only provides unique ideas in planning, it also provides unique approach in usage of material and engineering solutions that optimize the performance of the building as a whole.

As soon as one leaves the ground floor which is largely a public area and takes the floor up in the elevator, one opens up into an area which is a semi-public space that gives an opportunity of various casual gathering and collaboration on a community table and a barstool arrangement provided. This space is out of card access zone and it is connected with a set of washrooms and a pantry counter which ensures that the work/shop floor is not disturbed at all and a visitor/vendor can wait comfortably within the office premise. Even the floor numbering is artistically done using wooden slats on an exposed brick surface.

This area converses of an overall chic industrial design. One engineering marvel that is integrated within the Architectural Interiors of the design is the air conditioning works. It is an unconventional design, where this is no ducting or typical copper piping work. Each aluminum rafter which forms an integral part of the industrial design of the ceiling, carries a cold water piping and overall maintains the temperature of the office as desired. No blowers and hence no more typical complaints of a cold draft on any individual.

Entire ceiling is cladded with a fiber board material which absorbs sound and gives an interesting texture to the ceiling slab. 

A key feature on the work floor is the high booth seating which allows semi-enclosed collaboration touch points on the floor.

One of the key requirements was to plan for a town hall space within the building and ensure it gets used as a multi-purpose space. So the design idea of cutting the slab and connecting two floors with an amphitheater arrangement was executed. Design of this space was such that it allowed for smaller gatherings at all times and with a sky-lit ceiling brought a good amount of natural light within the interior space.
