Artist bio

Meltem Işık was born in 1977, Ankara and currently lives in New York. She received her BFA from Bilkent University in Ankara, and continued her studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. In 2011, Işık received her MA from the Department of Visual Arts at Sabancı University in Istanbul. Her work was selected to be included in the “Borders Orbits 09” exhibition organized by Siemens Sanat (2011). Her first solo show is scheduled to be at Galeri Nev, Istanbul in March 2012.
