这家著名美国科技公司的新总部坐落于巴塞罗那Poblenou区的Media-Tic大厦顶层。原先的空间较为中性、乏味和冷清，它围绕着一个中庭而建，用于支撑建筑的屋顶桁架对其有着压倒性的干扰。内外两扇围合的幕墙皆有着不均匀的特性品质。

The new headquarters for a renowned American tech company was to be located at the top floor of the Media-Tic Building at the Poblenou district in Barcelona. The existing space was neutral, repetitive and cold; it was configured around a central courtyard, and was interrupted by the overwhelming presence of the top trusses that support the building. The two curtain wall enclosures, the internal as well as the external one, were of uneven nature and quality.

设计的主要目的是打造一个以员工的舒适度为核心的当代办公空间；创造一种兼容的、多元的、舒适的工作氛围。建筑师运用了全方位的设计策略来为空间赋予清晰度和系统性。其中的一个例子是: 设计一个开放且连续的办公空间，并由长长的隔音幕墙将其细分为8个尺寸相等的小房间。这一设计策略将空间缩减到了更为亲切舒适的比例，同时为根据不同活动对布局进行灵活调整提供了可能。

The main goal of the design strategy is to define a contemporary office workspace which puts the employee’s comfort at its core; creating an inclusive, diverse and homey atmosphere. A whole range of strategies were devised so as to re-inhabit the space seeking clarity and systematicity. One example of this, was to design an open and continuous office space yet subdivided by long acoustic-curtains into 8 smaller rooms, all equivalent in size amongst them. This strategy allowed to scale-down the space into more domestic proportions keeping, nonetheless, the option of rearranging the layout in a flexible manner according to the activity conducted.

设计任务中最主要的实际办公区域被分解为更小的单元，意在以更加适当的尺度来保证工作团队的私密性。办公室为使用者的工作方式提供了多元的可能性，使其能够不断变换姿势，或站立，或围桌而坐，或憩于躺椅，帮助他们为每一个开发任务找到更加便利的工作地点。

The main area of required programme, the actual office workspace, is broken down into smaller units, trying to level the work team’s privacy with rather modest dimension. A diversified catalogue of possibilities to work in the office is provided to help users change their postures and find more convenient spots for each developed task. They can work standing up, sitting around a table and even resting on a deck chair.

每个房间内都有一件大型家具将其功能定义出来。这些房间有着相似的结构和细部，根据不同的设计要求，它们遵循着一种同时富有条理和变化的室内景观逻辑，均以完全预制的木墙柱系统构建而成。蕴含着深思熟虑的简练感，加上对细节之处的谨慎考虑，共同强调了绿化区域和休闲家具的主体地位。围绕着首层中央的空地，人们将邂逅于各种非正式的会面空间，使人遥想起典型的地中海式的庭院与回廊。这一草木繁茂的空间形成了一个交通圈，起到了整体流通的作用，避免了在办公环境中设置过多的类似于走廊的场所。

Within each room, a big piece of furniture determines its function. Each of the rooms is composed with similar construction and detailing, conforming, alongside the programme variations, an interior landscape that is systematic as well as diverse. Their construction is fully prefabricated with a timber stud-wall system. The deliberate simplicity and discretion of each pod, emphasizes the protagonism of the green area and the informal furniture. At the centre of the floor plan, wrapping around the void, one encounters informal meeting spaces recalling from the distance the typical Mediterranean courtyards and cloisters. Such space, planted with abundant vegetation, performs as main circulation ring avoiding the creation of redundant corridor-like spaces within the office layout.

由于任务书中没有要求设置接待区域，建筑师通过将厨房谨慎地置于主入口处，制造出欢迎的气氛。这一特殊的空间包含了两件大型家具。一边是一个11米长的柜台，可作为大型的集会工作台，也可用作非正式场合的会议桌；另一边则是简洁紧凑的小厨房。小型家具和整体装饰采用了当地的加泰罗尼亚式设计，运用了西班牙草、陶瓷、木材和棉布等多种材料，皆为本土生产的传统手工艺产品。这种具有风格特色的环境为员工们带来了极为温暖、舒适和愉悦的感官体验。

Given that a conventional reception area was not requested, the welcoming feel into the offices, is achieved by deliberately placing the kitchen at the main entrance. Two large pieces of furniture inhabit this particular room. On one hand, an 11m-long counter that performs as large gathering bench but can be also used as an informal meeting table, on the other hand, a compact kitchenette. The smaller furniture and the overall decoration resorts to local Catalan design which makes use of materials such as esparto, pottery, timber or cotton fabric. All of them being traditional handcrafted products locally sourced and produced. This pursues the creation of a characterful ambiance which drives a very particular warmth, comfort and sensuality for the gratification of the employees.
