在汽车展览会上人和汽车的角色会发生互换: 通常车动人静; 而在展览中, 车静人动。奥迪展台的概念由此而生,同时加以升华,玻璃折射与反射的运用是关键,它改变了传统的动与静。每一片玻璃都分割着视角,又组合着视角,所以人视线范围内可得到多样观车角度。多样视角下的复杂动静关系使一辆奥迪车变幻莫测。
This glass installation for Audi tackles the peculiar scenario of role reversal inherent in the display of a car: instead of stationary passengers in a moving car, the car remains stationary while people get to move around it. This installation capitalizes on this movement that brings along a constant shift of vantage point to create visual intrigue to an otherwise stationary car.
展览中的汽车嵌入在玻璃切片中,折射使汽车的影像在每一片玻璃上不同,静止的人可以在汽车连续影像的变化中体验动感;反射使每一片玻璃上都有多个非连续汽车影像叠加,静止的人便可从三维角度上了解全貌。与此同时反射与折射又在相互叠加,当人开始移动,汽车便仿佛在无数的维度上行驶。
The car was embedded within a series of glass slices so that from any one vantage point, one sees a series of multiple car reflections on the different planes of glass. By revolving around the installation in a constant shift of vantage points, one set of reflections blends in with the next set through an effect not unlike stop-motion animation, so that the car appears to be revolving too.
在玻璃布局的探索过程中, 我们最终选择了一个拥有两个反射立面与两个折射立面的设计,反射立面和折射立面可以提供两种截然不同的体验,而倾斜坡道可以引领观者进入展台内部,从而提供第三种观车体验。
Different slices arrangements were explored and the final chosen one offers reflections on 2 sides and refractions on the other 2. A ramped doorway brings one into the
installation to experience it from within.
为了保证顶部玻璃的透明度, 所有照明与结构都隐藏在底部基座内。 同时三角形的入口设计成功地把玻璃的重量转移到了底部基座,避免了钢构件的使用。由于玻璃之间的空间太小, 每安装一块玻璃之后才能安装钢构件, 最后当完成所有的玻璃安装时,再利用起重机将汽车吊进玻璃装置中。
All lightings/structures are concealed within the steel base to emphasize the transparency of the glass on top. To eliminate the use of any steel fixtures, a triangular doorway is adopted which aids the transfer of glass weight down to the base below.Because of the lack of working space between glass planes, steel structures had to be constantly added after each plane of glass is in. Finally, when all the glass planes were in place, the car was crane hoisted in.
