Located in the historic Crossroads District of Kansas City, Missouri, the Charlie Hustle brand of t-shirts and clothing represents the civic pride of the Midwest and the blue collar-friendly attitude it exudes. Charlie Hustle turned to KEM STUDIO to design it headquarters to reflect the brand.

What was the brief?

Charlie Hustle is a group of young exuberant individuals who are makers, creators, thought leaders, and hustlers with a passion for bringing vintage clothing into the modern age. A business with humble beginnings, the growth of the company necessitated a revitalized presence in its existing space. Charlie Hustle’s building shell is roughly 8,000 square feet composed of rustic brick walls, large steel beams overhead, and an expansive concrete floor. The company wanted to design its headquarters to inspire the team and reflect its unique character.

What is the Charlie Hustle story?

Inspired by the classic designs in sports and popular culture, Charlie Hustle uses the t-shirt as a canvas to express our love and passion for vintage clothing. The company's influences take it back to youthful innocence and those childhood moments we all wish to relive. From the premium quality of our fabric and garments to the unique style of our designs, Charlie Hustle is focused on every detail in an effort to give customers that look they like to call, Vintage Made Fresh! The company's mission is to bring back favorite t-shirts from the past, and back into customers' current wardrobes. In everything they do, Charlie Hustle's purpose is to Evoke Happiness. KEM STUDIO sought to reflect this purpose and mission in the company headquarters.

The Charlie Hustle headquarters is defined by a specific set of materials and a curated color palette that reflect the Charlie Hustle brand, personality, and spirit. In its totality, the newly renovated Charlie Hustle headquarters serves as an authentic representation of its users.
