Location:Av. Dr. Norman Bethune, 230, 18600 Motril, Granada, Spain; | ;
Project Year:2017
Category:Offices
The new offices for the National Social Security in Motril respond to modernization needs as one of the most useful public offices. The program for the current design was determined by the need for open space and continuity for both users and workers, as the daily activity of this office will support a heavy flow of people.
The Spanish architectural firm Erisur won the public tender with a program that made a fluent dialogue between the entrance and the interior of the building. Bamboo wood was the main element for the complete composition of the interior, placed in ceiling, floors, and wall coverings.
The need for open space made the election of a raised access floor system a simple, yet logical answer. All the cables and ducts were hidden underneath the access floor system, providing a clean design with the additional benefit of having easy access to them. As a result, all office sites were directly connected to the network without losing openness.
The interior design of the building comprehends two-story levels that serve diverse procedures within the same space, including waiting areas and private office spaces for the employees as well.
All the access floor system employed is Polygroup Gamaflor PAC finished in a high-pressured vinyl Lider in a bamboo reference that matched the rest of the coverings. The floor required to meet a specific requirement for heavy traffic, hence the election of the floor coverings.
