The graceful sails created by The Nomad Concept (Belgium) fit into almost any environment, from the intimate atmosphere of a private garden to the more
, public projects or events.
Whether the aim is mainly to create shade or to provide protection from rain or to create a secluded area away from the world, architect Amandus VanQuaille always looks for a solution with high artistic value. The sails are used as an entrance canopy, smoking areas or outdoor dining area, cover of a terrace etc...
Materials
The architectural sails are made of high-quality, innovative materials, with every detail being literally worked out to perfection.
The masts are made of anodised aluminium, stainless steel or standardised wood. The cables and cable parts (tensioners, bolts, nuts) are made of standardised stainless steel, of the same type as that used for sailboats.
Nomad Concept works exclusively with fabrics that are well-known for their
, including PTFE (Teflon). This high-tech material has a life expectancy of more than 25 years and can be used outdoors throughout the year. Even after years of exposure to all weather conditions, the sails still look beautiful and cared for, even in a green environment and with little maintenance.
Amandus VanQuaille also wrote his own computer programmes to assist him in making sail calculations, analysing the appropriate pre-loads and, most importantly, building
that resist all circumstances and weather conditions in accordance with the applicable Eurocodes.
