The project is located in Zhengzhou, Henan, China. The urban interface has its unique imageability. How to escape the monotony of urban image? We hope to create a different living experience and attitude. The gate, as a space converter, is a material media among people, community and city. While residents move in space, the landscape becomes an extension of physical perception, and then “transforms” "and "relieves" their fast-paced "emotions" in the city.

“We'd rather eat without meat than live without bamboo,” is how the poem by Dongpo Su - one of the most popular poets of the Song Dynasty (960-1279) - explains the Chinese affinity for bamboo. The spirit of “constructing a human's homeland by melting into nature” was passed down.

Entering into the gate, residents will experience the transition of space, just as their role change from society to family. From the noisy city to the warm and comfortable community, the space adjusts their emotions again.

The light penetrates the ceiling, and the scattered light makes residents look forward to everything in the gate. The warmth of light and the hazy smoke lead them into the spiritual home.

Bamboo has, for a long time, been widely used in buildings in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Bamboo is closely connected with our life. The project inspires designers' passion for design innovation, while constructing a human’s homeland by melting into nature.

It helps to change the long-term fixed lifestyle and relieve the pressure of the fast-paced urban life.

Lighting, an important element of landscape design, plays an important role in the bamboo structure.

The bamboo structure serves as its entrance and leaf shapes hanging on the top attracted residents’ attention. The bamboo forest forms a “road” by retaining walls on both sides. Walking in it makes residents confused. The bamboo was designed exquisitely and strived for perfection. The site becomes a natural bamboo forest.
