In designing branch offices for this iconic financial institution’s private wealth management services, Wirt Design tailors each office to the client base and local geography. For Westlake, California, that meant a conservative, mature, but less buttoned-up audience. However since they were moving to a new location it made sense to update the aesthetic to something more of its time that would attract new, younger clients.

There is a more casual vibe to the Westlake location: instead of exotic wood veneer millwork and marble flooring, distressed hardwoods and broadloom are used, the reception desk is finished with a mix of coarse marbles, and the furnishings are still refined but more comfortable.

The artwork continues to be a focal point and another way to connect with the clients, many of whom are art collectors and connected to the local art community.
