SDI Media is the world’s leading media localization provider, offering dubbing, subtitling, and media services for international, regional, and local content owners, aggregators, broadcasters, and new media distributors. SDI selected a second-generation space for their global headquarters that would accommodate their growth, enhance their brand and provide new state-of-the-art recording studios.

Designers developed a concept that allows collaboration in an open environment where it was appropriate, and security and privacy in areas where it was required. The public-facing talent zone consisting of an open “green room” and studios, was located on the ground floor with secured building lobby access.

The second floor utilized portions of the existing planning, while opening up the center of the floor for extensive use of benching workstations. A large community space is centrally located adjacent to transparent conference rooms, to encourage collaboration and staff interaction.

Designers coordinated with both acoustical consultants and the client for the build-out of multiple sound proof edit suites and recording studios. Highly specialized requirements were provided within strict budget constraints.
