荷兰军营旧马厩变身为独特住宅

A former riding school on a barracks site was intended to make place for residential buildings.

As it was a part of a so-called sequence of monumental stables, CONTEXTUREARCHITECTS has kept the existing building and transformed it into a special housing typology, inspired by its limitations. 

By dividing the building into 9 ground attached dwellings, deep, high and relatively narrow volumes were created, which could have a flexible lay-out.

Each house has a width of 4 meters 40 and a depth of 20 meters, leading to a central void with a large roof light on top. Thus, making this middle zone, with stair case, the core of each house.

All 9 dwellings have different lay-outs, based on the specific wishes of the various house owners. The central void is flexible and therefor some voids are expanded up to the outside facade.
