It didn't take much to breathe life back into this architectural object, hybrid in a way, but incredibly fascinating. The elegance of Liguria is linked to the architecture of the late nineteenth century up to the mid-twentieth century. This architecture is inscribed in that repertoire of small architectural objects that bring that charm to the eyes of the observer. Its shape is unequivocally reminiscent of a ship closed in on itself, protected but propelled towards the sea.  In its form it also reminds, in a small way, some beautiful architecture of the Adriatic colonies.

Not rationalist, not modernist, not American deco ... and yet somehow recalls all these memories, with humble honesty. Built on a rocky promontory, at first perhaps a wartime lookout and then converted into a small private bathing establishment now becomes home. The renovation has made it necessary to strip the architectural object to understand the structure and put it back into operation, without altering it aesthetically and with an attitude of conservation regarding the exterior.

The intervention has been more on the interiors about the optimization of spaces with the same design attitude that is reserved for a boat. A few simple and immediate materials. Net in understanding and traditional. Natural teak oil-treated with Caucciu  filler for the floors and furnishings and natural white plaster for the walls.

Local black stone, Ardesia, combined with white Carrara marble for the bathrooms defined with horizontal stripes. Typical local decorative motif of the most beautiful Ligurian churches of the '500. White and blue colours on the outside in contrast with the red of the terracotta tiles on the terrace. A linear interpretation, to leave to the surrounding nature the task of directing the sensations. It is the position, the rock, the light and the  the sea that makes the project.
