In 2014, in the Gräfler school building, a renewal of the secondary and junior secondary schools was undertaken in accordance with the financial, spatial and monument preservation possibilities. In the first step, non-"beneficial" elements were reduced in a double sense. Afterwards, the user needs were adjusted to the spatial and financial possibilities and unclear plans were found. After a material and colour analysis of the inventory, the spatial realization of the user's needs was carried out in accordance with the architectural language of Förderer, whereby an independent, generally harmonious atmosphere and serviceability was emphasized. A guiding principle was Förderer's claim to spatially shape social demands. All new built-in furniture has been supplemented in Förderer's design language, with the same dimensions, proportions, materials and the same colour shades. In addition, original lighting fixtures could be preserved and upgraded with new technology. By 2019, various fire protection measures were implemented in stages, as the light, flexible customizable dividing walls between the central hall and the adjoining classrooms no longer met the new fire protection regulations and the acoustic requirements of users after 40 years.
