The extremely tight budget for the construction of a new school building provides the opportunity to question conventions in the school building and to break new ground on the content and pedagogy level.

INSIDE - OUT 

The relation of the classroom to the external space is redefined with a simple inversion of the opening from inside to outside. 

Each room has a direct relation to the upstream, weather-protected outdoor space: a three-level break and study area in the form of surrounding <hanging gardens>. 

The window fronts can be fully opened in summer. 

This is a forgotten pedagogical principle from the 20s is taken and translated into today's time: THE VILLAGE SCHOOL

INTERACTION 

The interaction with the outside, with the encircling 

<development 

garden 

> and the surrounding tree-covered green is one side of the coin. 

On the other hand, the omission of the inner development also creates immediate proximity among the classrooms. 

The room-high double-wing doors, which are arranged in the inner corners around central support, can be opened if required and the classrooms can thus be connected to form larger units or clusters. 

Or you can turn an entire floor into a single, large study hall with simple steps.
