红原属中国四川省阿坝藏羌自治州，位于诺尔盖草原的南部，西北临西藏自治区，高寒气候，居民多以畜牧为生。

Hongyuan is located at the south of the Zoigê grasslands in the eastern part of the Tibetan Plateau, Sichuan, China. 

In this high-altitude weather, the local nomadic tribes make their livings by animal husbandry.

生态畜棚是西南民族大学特别成立的精准扶贫项目，畜棚采用牧民自主施作的方式，就地取材，15天完工。

The ecological livestock shelter is established by the Southwest University of Nationalities as one of their important empower-the-poor projects with goals to shelter livestock at high altitude areas during winter time. 

Due to limited budget, the shelter is built by the herdsmen themselves with easily accessible local resources such as stone, earth and meadow to reduce costs. 

The entire construction time takes about 15 days. 

基地趴开的草甸放上屋顶，基础挖出的土作墙体，凛冬将至，是幼牛的避冬场所，春天墙上草长又为牛食。

By transferring the original surface meadow to the roof and filing the wall with the dug-out earth during foundation work, the shelter seems to emerge slowly from the prairie out of now where. 

Winter is coming~ 

This shelter provides a safe and warm resting place for the baby yaks. By the time of spring, the wall will be covered with grass for feeding.
