No Name hookah bar is located in a residential area of Saint Petersburg.
The main task of the bureau was to create a bright and memorable interior that would attract a young audience into this small space.
During design development, we tried to get as far away as possible from the stereotypical hookah bar with carpets and tapchan sofas, and use more minimalistic and graphic techniques.
The basis of the interior was the image of an urban-like world behind the looking-glass where you can get lost and forget about the world around you.
The entire interior is concise and extremely simple. It is built on the contrast of the walls that remain as they were but completely covered with murals, which form a kind of shell, and new elements of clear geometric shape located separately, without touching anything.
The space consists of two halls. The point of attraction of the first hall is a minimalistic bar. Like the finishing elements around it, it is made of stainless steel. The glare of multicolored neon letters is reflected in their surface.
The core of the second hall is a metal mirror-like cube with individual places inside it for hookah smokers.
Thanks to the mirror, it changes the special geometry of the entire hall and looks spectacular in the dark. The walls, untouched after the old finishing was removed, create a contrast with the clear shape of the mirror volume. They were painted and covered with multi-colored neon inscriptions.
There are no ready-made elements in the interior, everything was custom made based on our sketches, which emphasizes the unique identity of the project.
