Baden-Baden, 9th November 2016: mid-October, seven years after the opening of Roomers in Frankfurt, Gekko Group owners Micky Rosen and Alex Urseanu launched their Roomers lifestyle brand in Baden-Baden. After barely a year, Roomers in Frankfurt had become a buzzword far beyond the confines of Frankfurt. The hotel had achieved something accomplished by only a few: top-quality, authentic hospitality, an unqualified love of life and the passion to share this. Rosen and Urseanu are now extending this philosophy to the Autograph Collection hotel in Baden-Baden.

Baden-Baden: a multi-facetted spa between open country and lifestyle The city is the perfect spot for a vibrant lifestyle Hotel. Baden-Baden is after all not only a spa of international repute, it’s also a place pervaded by art, culture and the media but also luxury and quality of life. The mood is laid-back, the proximity to Frankfurt tangible. As from now, guests and locals can enjoy what the new style icon Roomers has to offer, just a few steps away from the famous Festspielhaus. The hotel is located in a prime inner-city location, with the famous sights such as the Kurpark and the Musuem Frieder Burda in the immediate vicinity. Its architecture is impressive as is a culinary and spa treatment range that appeals to the senses and leaves no wishes unfulfilled The property owner and contractor Franz Bernhard Wagener is one of the city’s leading entrepreneurs. “Baden-Baden is ready for Roomers” say Micky Rosen and Alex Urseanu. “And with Franz Bernhard Wagener on our side we have a strong partner with whom we can realize our concept of an innovative hotel and restaurant business.”

A retreat for the senses: ultra-modern architecture and the joys of nature The local architectural firm KHP run by Urban Knapp and Marcus Haedecke is responsible for the basic design; the Italian star designer Piero Lissoni is behind the overall interior design concept, facade and garden layout.

A brilliant exterior, floor to ceiling windows and a rooftop bar: the size and opulence of Roomers in Baden-Baden is astounding and attracts the gaze even at a distance due not least to its imposing entrance with two Spanish antique church portals 3.80 metres in height. Radiant light from the floor length windows fills the rooms, revealing a vista of the Black Forest mountains. The hotel interior embraces and projects the surrounding countryside; urban design meets affinity with nature. A perfect match. The ground floor reflects Lissoni the aesthete and minimalist: broad spaces, natural colours, design classics combined with modern design, a play on materials and textures; a sensual, elegant ambience that nonetheless retains warmth and intimacy. The lobby is spacious and welcoming. No classic reception desk separating guests and staff. Instead tables offer a relaxing chat and check-in/check-out. The emphasis is on authentic hospitality. “Everyone’s excited about the new Roomers in Baden-Baden. Not only its quality and impression are compelling, in my view it’s a spectacular hotel, unique of its kind in Germany”, enthuses Alex Urseanu. “The hotel is a bombshell! No doubt about it.”

The flowing rhythm of evening to night: the moriki restaurant, Roomers Bar and Rooftop Bar In a Roomers hotel the restaurant and bar are always an essential part of the overall concept and the bar in particular is its heart and soul. It’s here where locals and hotel guests come together. As in Frankfurt, where the Roomers Restaurant and Roomers Bar are among the city’s most popular venues, the hotel in Baden-Baden aims to invite locals and guests in the city to while away a few hours or days in the Roomers Hotel. In the Restaurant moriki on the ground floor they serve modern panasiatic cuisine. As in the Frankfurt moriki the dishes are created by the famous chef and restaurateur Duc Ngo and express a symbiosis of East Asian aromas and fresh, regional ingredients. The name moriki is made up of the two words, “mori”, the Japanese word for forest and “ki”, universal life energy. In addition to seating for 70, guests can also be seated al fresco in the spacious inner courtyard. Groups of up to 16 can enjoy the moriki fare in the intimate atmosphere of the Private Dining. There is also the 190 m² Grand Room which can be divided into four rooms. The Roomers Bar at the same level was designed in collaboration with the multiple award-winning Roomers Bar Team from Frankfurt and Gekko Group Executive and bar

manager Steffen Goubeaud; as you may expect, the drinks are superb. One highlight is the walk-in humidor, in which up to 80 varieties of cigar are awaiting the connoisseur. But the ground floor bar is not the only place to get a decent drink in Roomers: the Rooftop Bar on the fifth floor is the only rooftop bar in town of this scale and offers an impressive panorama view of the mountains. During the day you can relax in the Infinity Pool; in the evening the bar is the perfect place for a first aperitif, later on a sundowner or a frenetic pool party.

Large, light, luxurious: the perfect ambience for cosmopolitan free spirits Roomers in Baden-Baden conveys a much lighter feeling than its dark, mystic brother in Frankfurt. The 130 rooms and suites are characterized by simple elegance – puristic and sensual, minimalistic and elegant. Daylight streams into the rooms through ceiling-high windows. The standard room is 32 m² and the largest in the city. There are also 21 Junior Suites sized between 46 and 55 m² with freestanding baths or adjoining living area, ten Suites from 60 m² upwards plus two Signature Suites – “Prestige“ with 100 m² and a 115 m² rooftop terrace and the 185 m² “Master Suite” with all around terrace. All the rooms additionally offer a lot of space and comfort of the highest standard. Natural materials harmonise with neutral-coloured textiles, colourful details provide surprising highlights. The bathrooms are all equipped with a bathtub and a separate shower.

A break from routine: let your mind drift in the exclusive spa Relax, enjoy, unwind: The 500 m² of space for spa treatments and fitness are Roomer’s oasis of wellbeing. There’s space enough here for anyone seeking time out to feel at ease and energize. From the fourth floor the spa affords an incredible view of the verdant countryside of the Black Forest. Apart from five treatment rooms there is also a vapour bath, hammam and jacuzzi plus a separate rooftop terrace as a relaxation area. Hotel guests can on enquiry book a range of treatments in their room and get themselves fit for the night. The spa is also open to non-hotel guests. In the La Prairie cosmetics line Roomers has found the perfect match for its discerning guests.

Business not so usual: modern event rooms for creative meetings and pulsating parties If you’re hosting business guests, are yourself a guest or would just like to give a big party, you can look forward to four light-flooded event rooms equipped with ultramodern technology and with access to a patio. Inspirational vistas onto the mountains of the Black Forest are of course included. A 190 m² room is available for larger events and conferences.

After this opening in Baden-Baden it will not take another seven years before the next new venture. Rosen and Urseanu are working on their third and fourth projects which are due to open in early 2017 – the Roomers in Munich and its burlesque little brother, the Provocateur in Berlin.

Using natural products wherever possible, the theme of warmth and cosiness continues, including the choice of stone which just happens to be Crema d’Orcia, a lovely creamy-coloured limestone.
